Baked Potatoes with Cheddar Cheese and Bacon As a stay-at-home parent, I am always looking for new and interesting recipes to try with my family. This week, I decided to make Baked Potatoes with Cheddar Cheese and Bacon. Not only is this meal easy to make, but it’s also delicious, nutritious and a great way to get the family together for a meal. I started by gathering all of the ingredients. I needed four medium sized potatoes, two tablespoons of butter, one cup of shredded cheddar cheese, four strips of bacon, one teaspoon of garlic powder and salt and pepper to taste. I preheated the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and then washed and dried the potatoes. Once the potatoes were ready, I placed them on a baking sheet and poked each one several times with a fork. Then, I melted the butter in a bowl and brushed it over each potato. After that, I sprinkled each one with garlic powder and salt and pepper before wrapping them in aluminum foil. I placed the potatoes in the oven for 45 minutes before taking them out to add the cheese and bacon. To do this, I removed the aluminum foil from each potato and sprinkled cheddar cheese over them followed by crumbled bacon strips on top of each potato. Finally, I returned them to the oven for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese melted completely. When my Baked Potatoes with Cheddar Cheese and Bacon were done cooking, I took them out of the oven and served them up for dinner. Everyone in my family was delighted with this meal – even my picky eaters! The potatoes were creamy on the inside with just enough crunch from the bacon on top.
