Beef and Onion Stir-Fry – A Stay at Home Parent’s Guide
As a stay at home parent, it’s important to have quick and delicious meals that you can whip up in a pinch. One of my favorite go-to recipes is a beef and onion stir-fry. Not only is it easy to make, but it also packs a flavor punch that even the pickiest eaters in my family are sure to enjoy. Plus, it’s a great way to get everyone around the dinner table!
To make this dish, you’ll need:
• 1 pound of lean ground beef
• 2 large onions, thinly sliced
• 1 teaspoon of minced garlic
• 2 tablespoons of olive oil
• 1 teaspoon of salt
• ¼ teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper
• 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
• 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce
• 2 tablespoons of cornstarch
• 2 tablespoons of cold water
• 2 cups of cooked white or brown rice
To get started, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onions and cook for about three minutes, stirring occasionally. Then add the garlic and cook for another minute. Next, add the ground beef to the pan and season with salt and pepper. Cook until the beef is no longer pink and has begun to brown, stirring occasionally.
Now it’s time to add the flavor! In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, cornstarch, and water until combined. Pour this mixture into the skillet with the beef and onions and stir until everything is evenly coated. Cook for two minutes until thickened.
Finally, serve with cooked white or brown rice and enjoy!
