I love making this dish because it's easy and delicious, and it's a great way to bring the family together. Not only that, but it's a great way to tell my own story about Ramen with broth, noodles and toppings. Ingredients For this recipe you will need: - 2 packages of ramen noodles - 8 cups of chicken or vegetable broth - 1/4 cup soy sauce - 2 tablespoons sesame oil - 1 tablespoon mirin (rice wine vinegar) - 2 cloves garlic, minced - 1 teaspoon grated ginger - 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional) - Toppings: - Soft boiled egg - Sliced scallions - Sliced mushrooms - Chopped nori (seaweed sheets) - Furikake (Japanese seasoning blend) Story Time Growing up in an Asian household, Ramen with broth, noodles and toppings was a staple in our home. My mom would make it every week and it was always something that we all looked forward to. We would sit around the table together and talk about our day while we enjoyed a hot bowl of Ramen. I remember how special it felt to be able to share a meal like this with my family. Even now as an adult, I still love making Ramen for my family because it brings back so many memories from my childhood. Instructions 1. Bring 8 cups of chicken or vegetable broth to a boil in a large pot. Add the ramen noodles and cook for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Drain the noodles and set aside. 2. In a separate saucepan, heat the sesame oil over medium heat. Add the garlic, ginger and red pepper flakes (if desired) and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add the soy sauce and mirin and cook for an additional minute until combined. 3. Pour the sauce over the cooked ramen noodles and stir to combine. Serve hot with your desired toppings (soft boiled egg, scallions, mushrooms, nori and furikake). Enjoy! Conclusion Ramen with broth, noodles and toppings is one of my favorite dishes to make for my family because it's easy to make yet so delicious! Not only that, but it brings back so many wonderful memories from my childhood that I cherish deeply.
