Making churros is simple, but it does take some time. The dough needs to be cooked, cooled, formed into logs, and then deep-fried. Don’t be intimidated by all the steps – it’s worth it! Once you try them, you’ll never want to go back. Here’s what you need for this churros recipe:
Ingredients:
• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/4 cup butter, melted
• 2/3 cup warm water
• 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• Vegetable oil for frying
• Confectioners’ sugar for dusting
Instructions:
1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the melted butter and mix until it is crumbly. Slowly add in the warm water and mix until a dough forms. Knead the dough until it is smooth and elastic, about 5 minutes. Cover with a damp cloth and let rest for 30 minutes.
2. Roll out the dough onto a lightly floured surface until about ¼ inch thick. Cut into strips about 2 inches long and ½ inch wide. Lightly press each strip into cinnamon sugar mixture (1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon in 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar). Heat oil in a deep pot or electric fryer until it reaches 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius). Fry strips for about 3 minutes or until golden brown on both sides. Remove from oil and place on paper towels to drain excess oil. Dust with powdered sugar before serving. Pho: An Easy and Delicious Recipe to Try at Home
As a stay-at-home parent, it can be challenging to find time to create a delicious and nutritious meal for the family. That’s why I am so excited to share with you all this easy and delicious Pho recipe that is sure to become a family favorite. Not only is it simple to prepare, but it is also incredibly flavorful, healthy, and is just the perfect meal for a cozy night in with the family.
Ingredients:
• 8 cups of chicken or vegetable broth
• 1 onion, sliced
• 2 cloves of garlic, minced
• 1 teaspoon of fresh ginger, grated
• 2 tablespoons of fish sauce
• 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
• 1 teaspoon of ground coriander
• 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
• 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
• ½ pound of rice noodles
• 2 cups of julienned carrots
• 2 cups of bean sprouts
• 2 cups of thinly sliced mushrooms
• 2 limes, cut into wedges
• Fresh cilantro leaves, chopped
• Fresh basil leaves, chopped
• 1 jalapeño pepper, sliced
• Sriracha sauce (optional)Instructions:
1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add the onion and garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 2 minutes.
2. Add the ginger, coriander and cinnamon and sauté for another minute. Then add the chicken or vegetable broth and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
3. Add the fish sauce and brown sugar to the pot and stir until combined. Then add the rice noodles and cook for 5 minutes or until softened.
4. Divide the noodles between 4 bowls and top each bowl with carrots, bean sprouts, mushrooms, cilantro leaves, basil leaves, jalapeño pepper slices and lime wedges. Ladle the hot broth over each bowl and serve immediately with sriracha sauce on the side (optional). Enjoy!
I was first introduced to Pho when my family immigrated from Vietnam to Canada when I was 8 years old. Biryani has been a favorite in my family for generations, and I’m happy to share the recipe with you today. This flavorful and comforting dish is perfect for busy parents who need a hearty meal that’s easy to prepare.
Ingredients:
-2 cups of basmati rice (soaked for 30 minutes)
-2 cups of chicken (diced)
-1 onion (diced)
-1 green chili (minced)
-1 tsp of ginger-garlic paste
-½ tsp of turmeric powder
-1 tsp of red chilli powder
-1 tsp of garam masala powder
-3 tbsp of oil
-3 cardamoms, 2 cloves, 1 cinnamon stick, 1 bay leaf (whole spices)
-Salt to taste
-2 cups of water
-½ cup of fresh mint leaves (chopped)
-½ cup of fresh cilantro leaves (chopped)
-Lemon juice (for garnishing)
-Fried onions (for garnishing)Instructions:
1. Heat the oil in a pan and add the whole spices. Fry for a few seconds until fragrant. Then add the diced onion and fry until golden brown. Add the minced green chili and ginger garlic paste and fry until the raw smell is gone.
2. Add the diced chicken, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, and salt to taste. Mix everything together and cook until the chicken is cooked through.
3. Drain the soaked basmati rice and add it to the pan with the chicken mixture. Pour in two cups of water and mix everything together. Cover the pan with a lid and cook on low heat for 15 minutes or until the rice is cooked through.
4. Once the rice is cooked, fluff it up with a fork and add chopped mint leaves and cilantro leaves. Mix everything together gently.
5. To serve, garnish with lemon juice and fried onions. Biryani is best served hot with raita or a simple salad on the side.
