That’s why I am so excited to share with you all this easy and delicious Pho recipe that is sure to become a family favorite. Not only is it simple to prepare, but it is also incredibly flavorful, healthy, and is just the perfect meal for a cozy night in with the family.

    Ingredients:
    • 8 cups of chicken or vegetable broth
    • 1 onion, sliced
    • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
    • 1 teaspoon of fresh ginger, grated
    • 2 tablespoons of fish sauce
    • 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
    • 1 teaspoon of ground coriander
    • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
    • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
    • ½ pound of rice noodles
    • 2 cups of julienned carrots
    • 2 cups of bean sprouts
    • 2 cups of thinly sliced mushrooms
    • 2 limes, cut into wedges
    • Fresh cilantro leaves, chopped
    • Fresh basil leaves, chopped
    • 1 jalapeño pepper, sliced
    • Sriracha sauce (optional)

    Instructions:

    1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add the onion and garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 2 minutes.

    4. Divide the noodles between 4 bowls and top each bowl with carrots, bean sprouts, mushrooms, cilantro leaves, basil leaves, jalapeño pepper slices and lime wedges. Ladle the hot broth over each bowl and serve immediately with sriracha sauce on the side (optional). Enjoy!

    I was first introduced to Pho when my family immigrated from Vietnam to Canada when I was 8 years old.
