Shrimp Cocktail Recipe
A classic appetizer, shrimp cocktail is easy to make and always a crowd pleaser. This recipe is sure to wow your guests and be the star of your next gathering.
Ingredients:
-1 lb cooked shrimp (tail-on or tail-off)
-1/2 cup ketchup
-1/4 cup prepared horseradish
-1/4 cup lemon juice
-2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
-1 teaspoon hot sauce
-2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley
-1 tablespoon minced fresh chives
-Salt and pepper to tasteInstructions:
1. Start by preparing the shrimp. If using raw shrimp, peel, devein, and rinse them under cold water. Boil the shrimp in salted water for 2 minutes, then drain and rinse with cold water. If using pre-cooked shrimp, simply thaw if frozen and rinse under cold water. Pat the shrimp dry with a paper towel and set aside.
2. To make the cocktail sauce, combine the ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, parsley, and chives in a medium bowl. Stir until fully combined and season with salt and pepper to taste. Refrigerate until ready to use.
3. When ready to serve, arrange the cooked shrimp in a serving bowl or platter and spoon the cocktail sauce over top. Sprinkle with additional parsley or chives for garnish if desired. Serve chilled or at room temperature. Enjoy!
