Canuck Eats drivers and franchisees to be powered by Float payment cards

Over the coming months, we’re rolling out Float cards to our (franchisee) drivers to settle in person product purchases for our customers. This helps our startup to streamline our operations and reduce business barrier to entry for our franchisee partners, and provide better insights to our internal metrics.

Canuck Eats featured in in-depth article about the delivery industry by The Logic and Financial Post

In towns without Uber Eats, local entrepreneurs deliver a solution – Demand for food delivery has taken off in rural communities, where small-town services are finding the door wide open

    By Aleksandra Sagan

“Whatever the deterrents, the local startups have found enough success to start expanding—with some hoping to build their own delivery empires, and even push into bigger cities. Since launching in Merritt, Canuck Eats now operates in three other areas: Nanaimo, B.C.; Oshawa, Ont.; and Edmonton. “Within the next few years, we want to have a location in every province,” said Tsui.

To keep its service attuned to conditions in each specific market, Canuck Eats created a franchise model. For a $5,000 fee, a local entrepreneur can bring the service to their location. Canuck Eats helps with the technology and marketing, but the local owner negotiates with restaurants and drivers. So far, Tsui’s funded the venture himself, along with a $13,000 injection from Clearco’s ClearAngel program in October 2021. Tsui said he plans to bootstrap the company, but would entertain interested investors on a case-by-case basis.”

  • Making a Difference in Our Communities through Donations to Local Food Banks

Making a Difference in Our Communities through Donations to Local Food Banks

Canuck Eats is pleased to announce that we have made donations to three fantastic local food banks: Edmonton’s Food Bank, Loaves & Fishes Community Food Bank in Nanaimo, and Simcoe Hall Community Food Bank in Oshawa. As a company, we believe that it is our responsibility to give back to the communities in which we operate, and we are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of those around us.

Food insecurity is an issue that affects communities all over the world, and it is a problem that requires the support of companies like ours. These food banks do incredible work in providing essential resources to individuals and families who are struggling to make ends meet, and we are honored to be able to contribute to their efforts.

Edmonton’s Food Bank has been serving their local community for over 40 years, and they are well-respected for the vital role they play in supporting those in need. Loaves & Fishes Community Food Bank in Nanaimo is a “newer” organization of over 25 years, but they have already made a significant impact in their community through their tireless efforts to provide food and other essential resources to those who are struggling. Simcoe Hall Community Food Bank in Oshawa is a well-established organization that has been making a difference in their community for nearly 90 years. They offer a wide range of services, including a food pantry, hot meals, and assistance with utility bills and other necessities.

In addition to our monetary donations, we have also encouraged our franchisees and employees to get involved in volunteering at these food banks. Many of our staff have already signed up to help out, and we are looking forward to supporting these organizations in any way we can. We believe that it is important for businesses to be actively involved in their communities, and we are committed to doing our part to make a positive difference.

At Canuck Eats, we are proud of the work we do and the products and services we offer. However, we also recognize that it is our responsibility to be good corporate citizens and to give back to the communities that have supported us. Our donations to Edmonton’s Food Bank, Loaves & Fishes Community Food Bank in Nanaimo, and Simcoe Hall Community Food Bank in Oshawa are just one way in which we are working to make a difference in the world. We hope that our contributions will help to make a real difference in the lives of those in need, and we look forward to continuing to support these important organizations in the future.
