This Fried Shrimp with Cocktail Sauce recipe is a must-have for any stay at home parent! Whether you’re looking for an easy and delicious meal to whip up for the family or you’re just craving something a little different, this recipe is sure to hit the spot. Not only is it simple to prepare, but the end result is a golden-brown, crispy shrimp that’s hard to resist. And once you’ve fried your shrimp, you can top it off with a homemade cocktail sauce that gives it an extra kick of flavor.
Ingredients:
– 2 lbs. of shrimp (peeled and deveined)
– 1 cup all-purpose flour
– 2 eggs
– ¾ cup of panko bread crumbs
– 1 teaspoon garlic powder
– ½ teaspoon paprika
– Salt and pepper
– Vegetable oil for frying
– Your favorite store bought or homemade cocktail sauce
Instructions:
1. Begin by preparing your ingredients. Peel and devein the shrimp, then set aside in a bowl. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, eggs, panko bread crumbs, garlic powder, paprika, salt and pepper.
2. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add in enough vegetable oil to shallow fry the shrimp. Once the oil is hot, dip each shrimp in the egg mixture and then coat evenly in the flour mixture. Place each shrimp into the hot oil and fry until golden brown on both sides (about 3 minutes per side). Once they are done cooking, transfer them to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil.
3. Serve your fried shrimp with your favorite store bought or homemade cocktail sauce! I love making my own cocktail sauce with ketchup, horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, and some hot sauce if desired. It’s always a hit with everyone!
As a stay at home parent, I know how important it is to have quick and easy recipes on hand that are sure to please everyone in the family. That’s why I love this Fried Shrimp with Cocktail Sauce recipe – it takes no time at all to prepare and you can always tweak it depending on what ingredients you have on hand or what flavors you’re looking for. My own personal story behind this Fried Shrimp with Cocktail Sauce recipe goes way back to my childhood when my Mom would make this for us as an after-school snack or for family get togethers. It was always such a treat – especially when she would make her own homemade cocktail sauce from scratch! We would literally fight over who got the last piece of fried shrimp because they were just so good! To this day I still make this recipe for my own family as an occasional after school snack or as an appetizer before dinner – it never fails to be a hit!
