I was first introduced to this recipe by my mother, who has been making it for years. It’s a simple combination of beef, green beans, garlic, ginger and soy sauce. The flavors come together perfectly in this dish. Each bite is a wonderful combination of savory and sweet.

The best part about this recipe is how easy it is to make. All you need are a few simple ingredients which you can easily find at your local grocery store. To make the beef and green bean stir-fry, you will need:

• 1 lb lean ground beef
• 2 cloves garlic, minced
• 1 thumb sized piece of fresh ginger, grated
• 1 lb fresh green beans
• 2 tablespoons soy sauce
• 2 tablespoons sesame oil
• Salt and pepper to taste

To begin, heat the sesame oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned. Once the beef is cooked through, add in the garlic, ginger and green beans. Continue to cook for another 5 minutes or until the green beans are tender. Finally stir in the soy sauce and season with salt and pepper if desired. Serve over steamed white or brown rice.

This simple yet delicious dish has been a part of my family’s meals for years now! Every time I make it I am reminded of my mother who first showed me how to make it. Whenever there is no time to prepare something more elaborate, this stir-fry always comes through for us with its wonderful combination of flavors and ease of preparation!
