Beef Stir-Fry with Mushroom Sauce: A Stay-at-Home Parent’s Delicious Dinner Recipe
As a stay-at-home parent, I know all too well how hard it can be to come up with delicious dinner recipes that the whole family can enjoy. That’s why I’m excited to share my favorite beef stir-fry with mushroom sauce recipe – it’s quick and easy to make, and it’s sure to please even the pickiest eaters.
I first discovered this recipe about a year ago when I was trying to come up with something new for dinner. I had some beef in the fridge and mushrooms in the pantry, so I decided to experiment and see what I could create. The result was an incredibly flavorful dish that my family loves!
This beef stir-fry with mushroom sauce is a great meal for busy nights because you can have it on the table in just 30 minutes. Plus, it’s full of nutritious ingredients like mushrooms, onions, garlic, and bell peppers. It’s also very versatile – you can easily customize it by adding your favorite vegetables or switching up the type of beef you use.
The key to this recipe is to cook the ingredients in stages so that each one has the chance to caramelize and develop its own flavor. First, you’ll stir-fry the beef until it’s browned, then add in the vegetables and let them cook until they’re tender. Finally, you’ll add a flavorful mushroom sauce made from garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, and honey – this is what really brings all the flavors together!
Once everything is cooked, all you have to do is serve it over your favorite grain or some steamed rice. My family loves this dish so much that we usually end up having it more than once a week!
Ingredients:
1 lb. beef (I prefer sirloin steak but you can use any cut)
1 onion
2 cloves garlic
1 bell pepper
2 cups mushrooms (I like cremini but any kind will work)
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon honey
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Once hot, add in the beef and cook until browned on each side (about 5 minutes per side). Remove from heat and set aside on a plate.
2. Add another tablespoon of olive oil to the skillet and turn heat up to medium-high. Add in the onion, garlic, bell pepper, and mushrooms. Cook until vegetables are tender (about 8 minutes).
3. Reduce heat back down to medium low and add back in the cooked beef along with soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes until everything is combined and heated through.
4. Serve over steamed rice or your favorite grain! Enjoy!
