When I first tried this recipe, I was immediately hooked. The spicy Cajun seasoning adds a unique flavor to the crispy fried shrimp that my family can’t get enough of. Plus, this recipe is super versatile so you can easily add other ingredients such as diced bell peppers, onions, and garlic to make it your own.
Ingredients:
-1 pound of large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
-2 tablespoons of olive oil
-3 tablespoons of Cajun seasoning
-1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder
-1/4 teaspoon of onion powder
-Salt and pepper to taste
-Vegetable oil for fryingInstructions:
1. In a large bowl, mix together the olive oil, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until well blended.
2. Add the shrimp to the mixture and stir until the shrimp are evenly coated with the seasoning mixture. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
3. Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the shrimp to the skillet and fry until golden brown – about 5 minutes per side. Use tongs to turn the shrimp over while they are cooking so they do not stick to the skillet.

“Easy Cajun Shrimp and Grits Recipe for Busy Stay-At-Home Parents!”
Cajun Shrimp and Grits – A Story About Comfort Food
As a stay-at-home parent, I’m always looking for new recipes that can easily be adapted to my family’s tastes. Recently, I’ve been on the hunt for something new and exciting to try in my kitchen. That’s when I stumbled across a recipe for Cajun shrimp and grits. This savory dish has quickly become a favorite in our home.
The origin of Cajun shrimp and grits is often attributed to the African-American culture in the Southern United States, particularly in Louisiana. It’s believed that this dish originated as a simple way to feed the large families who lived in the area. The combination of shrimp, grits and flavorful Cajun spices has been a classic comfort food for generations.
When making Cajun shrimp and grits at home, the key is to use freshly prepared ingredients. The most important component of this dish is the use of high-quality shrimp. For this recipe, I like to use medium-sized wild-caught shrimp that have been peeled and deveined. The next step is to make the creamy grits using butter, milk, and cheese. This can be cooked on the stove top or even in the microwave for a quick meal.
Once your ingredients are prepped, it’s time to season them with your favorite Cajun spices. I use a combination of garlic powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, oregano, thyme, and black pepper to give my dish a spicy kick. You can adjust the amount of spices according to your desired level of heat. Once all your ingredients are prepped and seasoned, it’s time to get cooking!
To make this dish, simply heat some oil in a skillet over medium heat and add your seasoned shrimp. Allow them to cook for about three minutes before adding your prepared grits and stirring everything together until it reaches desired consistency. Serve your spicy Cajun shrimp and grits with some fresh parsley or green onion for garnish.
This delicious comfort food has become an instant hit with my family! We love it so much we often make double batches so that we can enjoy it later in the week as well. The best part is that this meal comes together quickly and easily – perfect for busy days as a stay-at-home parent!

-2 tablespoons garlic powder
-1 tablespoon onion powder
-1 teaspoon black pepper
-1 teaspoon paprika
-1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)The story behind my favorite pork spare ribs recipe goes back to when I was a kid living in my grandparents’ house in rural Texas. My grandmother was an amazing cook who loved to feed her family, and one of her specialties was these delicious pork spare ribs. Every time she made them, they were so tender and flavorful that they melted in our mouths. The secret to her recipe was in the marinade; she used a combination of soy sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, paprika and a pinch of cayenne pepper (optional). This marinade would give the meat such a unique and savory flavor that we couldn’t get enough! To this day, I still make pork spare ribs using my grandmother’s marinade recipe – it’s become a staple in my home kitchen.
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with foil or parchment paper.
2. In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper and paprika (and cayenne pepper if desired). Mix until all ingredients are fully combined.
3. Pour the marinade over the ribs and use your hands to coat them evenly with the sauce. Make sure each rib is fully covered with the marinade.
4. Bake the ribs for 1 hour or until they are cooked through and tender when pierced with a fork.
5. Once cooked through, remove from oven and let cool before slicing into individual pieces or serving whole with extra marinade as desired. Enjoy! As a stay-at-home parent who loves to cook for their family, I find that this pork spare rib recipe is perfect for busy summer days when you don’t have much time to spend in the kitchen but still want to enjoy a delicious meal together at home.
