Fried Shrimp: The Perfect Stay-at-Home Parent Recipe for a Creative Night In!
Fried Shrimp – A Delicious and Easy Recipe for the Stay-at-Home Parent As a stay-at-home parent, finding time to make a delicious, healthy meal while also tending to the needs of your family can be a challenging task. That’s why I’m here to share with you one of my favorite recipes: fried shrimp. This dish is easy to make and only requires a few ingredients, making it an ideal choice for busy parents who need to get dinner on the table in a hurry. Plus, it’s a surefire hit with kids and adults alike. I first encountered fried shrimp during my college years. At that time, I was working part-time in a local seafood restaurant and we were always preparing this dish for customers. I was amazed at how quickly the shrimp cooked up in the hot oil and how much flavor it had. From that point on, fried shrimp became one of my go-to meals whenever I needed something tasty and fast. Making this dish at home is actually quite simple. All you need are some fresh or frozen shrimp (I prefer to use fresh), some flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and vegetable oil for frying. To start off, thaw out your frozen shrimp if necessary and pat them dry with a paper towel. Then combine the flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder and paprika in a shallow bowl or plate. Dip each shrimp into the flour mixture and make sure they are evenly coated on all sides. Next heat up some vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the oil has reached 350°F (175°C), carefully add the coated shrimp to the pan. Fry the shrimp for 1–2 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and cooked through. When done, transfer them onto paper towels so that they can cool down and absorb any excess oil. Fried shrimp is best served as soon as it’s ready but you can also keep it warm by placing them in an oven preheated to 200°F (95°C) for about 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy your fried shrimp with your favorite dipping sauce or as part of an entrée with some sides like roasted veggies or mashed potatoes! It’s amazing how such a simple recipe can be so delicious! Fried shrimp is an easy yet flavorful meal that I know my family loves – plus it takes hardly any time at all to whip up! Whether you’re a busy stay-at-home parent or just looking for an easy weeknight dinner option, this fried shrimp recipe is guaranteed to please everyone at your dinner table. Ingredients: • 1 lb (450 g) fresh or frozen shrimp • ½ cup (60 g) all-purpose flour • 1 teaspoon (6 g) salt • ½ teaspoon (3 g) pepper • ½ teaspoon (2 g) garlic powder • ¼ teaspoon (1 g) paprika • Vegetable oil for frying
