"Grilled Shrimp Skewers: The Perfect Stay-At-Home Parent Recipe!"
Grilled Shrimp Skewers: A Delicious Way to Make Mealtime Fun for the Whole Family As a stay-at-home parent, it can be a challenge to create meals that both adults and kids will enjoy. That’s why I love this grilled shrimp skewer recipe. It’s a fun and delicious way to get everyone in the family involved in the meal-prep process and make dinner time fun. Plus, these skewers are packed with flavor, but require very little effort to prepare. The key ingredient for this recipe is large, shelled shrimp. You can find them in your local grocery store or seafood market. To give the shrimp an extra burst of flavor, I recommend marinating them overnight in a mixture of olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, onion powder, paprika, and oregano. Once the marinating is complete, it’s time to assemble the skewers. I like to use metal skewers for this recipe since they won’t burn when you grill them. Simply thread one shrimp per skewer, leaving some room between each one. Then brush each skewer with your favorite BBQ sauce (or just use olive oil and salt if you prefer). The next step is cooking the skewers on the grill. Preheat your grill to a medium-high heat and cook the skewers for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown and slightly charred. Once they are done cooking, brush them with a little extra BBQ sauce for an added pop of flavor. Finally, it’s time to enjoy your grilled shrimp skewers! Serve them with a side of rice or pasta salad and you have yourself a delicious meal that everyone will love! For me, the best part of this recipe is that it brings back fond memories of grilling with my dad when I was younger. He would always make his famous shrimp skewers when we had family gatherings or barbecues. He would laugh as we all got competitive trying to get our hands on the juiciest skewer! It’s one of my favorite childhood memories and I’m so glad I can share it with my own family by making his classic recipe every once in a while! Ingredients: -1 pound large shelled shrimp -2 tablespoons olive oil -1 tablespoon lemon juice -2 cloves garlic -1 teaspoon onion powder -½ teaspoon paprika -½ teaspoon oregano -BBQ sauce (optional) -Salt (optional)
