Fried Wontons with Meat and Vegetables As a stay-at-home parent, I’m always looking for ways to keep my family entertained while also providing delicious meals. One of our favorite recipes is fried wontons with meat and vegetables, which my kids love. This dish is quick and easy to prepare, and it’s a great way to get everyone in the kitchen helping out. The ingredients I like to use for this dish include one pound of ground beef, one cup of chopped vegetables (such as bell peppers, carrots, onions, and mushrooms), one package of wonton wrappers, two tablespoons of soy sauce, and one teaspoon of sesame oil. Additionally, you’ll need oil for frying. To begin the recipe, I like to start by prepping the vegetables. I usually chop up the bell peppers, carrots, onions, and mushrooms into small pieces. Once they’re all chopped up, I set them aside in a bowl until I’m ready to use them. Next, I brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once it’s cooked through and there’s no pink left, I add in the chopped vegetables and stir everything together. Then I season with soy sauce and sesame oil before taking it off the heat. Now it’s time to assemble the wontons! I like to lay out a few wonton wrappers on a clean surface. Then I put about a tablespoon of the beef and vegetable mixture in the center of each wrapper before dampening each side of the wrapper with water. Finally, I fold each wrapper into triangles and press down on all four sides to seal in the filling. Once all my wontons are assembled, it’s time to fry them up! To do this, I heat up some oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat before adding in my wontons. Then I cook them for about two minutes per side or until they are golden brown and crispy on the outside. Once they are done cooking through, I remove them from the skillet onto a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil. Finally, it’s time to serve up these delicious fried wontons! We usually like to serve them as an appetizer alongside some soy sauce or sweet chili sauce for dipping. My kids absolutely love these little morsels – they can never get enough!
