"Quick and Easy Shrimp Stir-Fry: A Stay-At-Home Parent's Guide to Deliciousness!"
Staying at Home with the Kids: A Guide to Making Shrimp and Vegetables Stir-fry As a stay at home parent, cooking meals for the family can often seem daunting and time-consuming. However, with the right recipe, it can be a fun and rewarding experience. Today, I’m sharing my favorite recipe for a flavorful and healthy shrimp and vegetables stir-fry. Not only is this dish easy to make in under 30 minutes, but it also provides lots of essential nutrients that will keep your family energized throughout the day. Ingredients: • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil • 1 pound of shrimp, peeled and deveined • 1 teaspoon garlic powder • 1 teaspoon onion powder • 2 cups of broccoli florets • 1 red bell pepper, diced • 1 yellow bell pepper, diced • 1 cup sugar snap peas • 2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce • 2 tablespoons of honey • 2 teaspoons sesame oil • 2 tablespoons of rice vinegar • 2 tablespoons of freshly chopped cilantro (optional) I have fond memories of making this dish with my family. When I was a child, my parents would take me to the local farmers market every weekend to buy fresh produce for our weekly stir-fry. We would buy all sorts of vegetables like broccoli, peppers, mushrooms, and sugar snap peas. Then we’d head home to make our own version of shrimp and vegetables stir-fry. The aroma of garlic and onions sautéing in vegetable oil filled the kitchen as we prepped the ingredients. It was one of my favorite childhood memories. Now that I’m an adult and stay at home parent myself, I still enjoy making this dish with my own family. It’s a great way to get everyone involved in the kitchen without spending too much time cooking. Even my picky eaters love it! Here’s how you can make your own version at home: Instructions: 1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the shrimp and season with garlic powder and onion powder. Cook until shrimp is pink and cooked through (about 5 minutes). Remove from heat and set aside. 2. In the same skillet, add broccoli florets, red bell peppers, yellow bell peppers, and sugar snap peas. Sauté until vegetables are tender (about 5 minutes). 3. Add back in cooked shrimp and stir in soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, rice vinegar until everything is well combined. Let simmer for 3-4 minutes or until sauce has thickened up a bit. Taste test for seasoning (add more soy sauce or honey if needed). 4. Garnish with freshly chopped cilantro before serving (optional). Enjoy! I hope you enjoy this delicious shrimp and vegetables stir-fry recipe! It’s a great way to stay at home with the kids while still providing them with a nutritious meal that’s full of flavor. Plus, it’s an easy way to get them involved in meal prep without taking up too much time or energy on your part! So go ahead – give it a try and let me know what you think!
